To kick-start a fantastic year of events for the Society in 2010, we are delighted to announce that our 1st Quarter tasting in Sydney will feature a very special guest - the inimitable Charles Maclean. Charles is one of the world’s leading authors on whisky, having published no less than eight books on the topic. Furthermore, his presentations and masterclasses are amongst the most comprehensive, informative, and entertaining tastings in the world. Charles is also one of two “chairmen” serving on the Society’s Tasting Panel in Edinburgh, and is responsible for preparing the UK tasting notes that you read in our Bottling Lists. Charles is coming to New Zealand on a special whisky tour for Whisky Galore, and we’ve convinced him to “cross the ditch” to conduct a tasting for the Society for one night only. This will be a regular quarterly tasting in every other sense, with a selection of the finest malts off our latest shipment and Bottling List (although different whiskies to the ones that will be featured at the tasting in your home State). This presents a rare and very special opportunity for members to have an audience with, quite simply, one of the best in the business. What better reason do you need for a trip to Sydney?!
This exclusive event will be held on Wednesday March 24th and seats are strictly limited - so book now if you are keen to attend. Guests are also welcome to attend the evening. A light canapé supper is included.
