It wasn t long before he managed to obtain an advanced diploma in Hospitality Management and to qualify as a chef both a very long way from any other plans he or his family many have had..Whilst his swimming career may not have continued Jewell s philosophy to just dive in has certainly become a metaphor for how he does things. Although he still enjoys his adrenaline sports such as motor racing and wind surfing much of that energy now gets siphoned into his professional pursuits. Throw the whole lot in together and what you get is a true entrepreneur s mindset where dynamic decisions are made fearlessly and minus all sense of panic..Jewell is a self-confessed workaholic and will always seek out new interests. To be expected he now finds himself at the helm of another exciting pursuit as the author of his very first book. To be released in October 2010 through New Holland Publishers The Lad s Chef Cookbook is a tome that caters to the needs of every man from young guys who have just moved out of home through to the more refined who still become bewildered over special occasion dishes. The book breaks cooking down to bare basics with easy to follow recipes lists of all crucial items for the kitchen and invaluable tips on how to create a lasting impression by knowing precisely which finishing touches give flair to any dining experience..There s a second book in the making further down the line and not surprisingly a television show. In addition within the next few years Jewell has plans to expand the Tharens brand further by taking it to Brisbane Melbourne and then Las Vegas. Meanwhile and in his spare time!
